Helping Kids with Cancer Survive and Thrive

Each year, an Oncology Camp operates for children ages 6-17 who have or have had cancer and their siblings. Due to the financial burden that often accompanies a cancer diagnosis, all of the camp’s programs are offered free-of-charge to the families they serve. One parent explained why this camp is so important. “Camp is very therapeutic for our family. It's a wonderful time spent together doing fun filled activities with families that understand what we have lived and are living through. It has helped me to see children survive and thrive because at first, I didn't think we were going to make it and coming to camp gave us hope. Cancer is devastating in so many ways…(Camp) has helped us get through a very traumatic experience.”
