For over 50 years, BUILD Chicago has been giving young people a safe place to grow and succeed. Having a support system from a young age gives youth the foundation to reach their educational and career potential. BUILD's work inspires communities, and has attracted the attention of local, state and national policymakers such as US Sen. Dick Durbin and Rep. Camille Lilly, Chicago Mayors Rahm Emanuel and Lori Lightfoot, Cook County President Toni Preckwinkle, many local alderman, and even President Barack Obama, through our “My Brother’s Keeper” initiative with the Obama Foundation. BUILD offers many different types of youth programs ranging from sports to digital media, like our "BUILD Radio" podcast, or even working on our urban farm 'The Iris'! We offer deeply impactful clinical and health and wellness programs, street intervention programs, prevention programs, and educational and college and career readiness programs. BUILD aims to be a beacon of hope for communities that experience violence, reclaiming community spaces that might not be safe otherwise. At BUILD we know the best way to keep a young person off the streets is to invest in their potential by giving them the tools they need to expand their creativity and confidence. We've been a second home to thousands. A safe place to foster passions, make friends, and learn life skills. Donations like yours have been helping BUILD save lives for over 50 years.
